This summer, we welcomed a talented group of interns who have brought fresh perspectives to WT Group. Our interns, spanning civil, structural, MEP, and design fields, were involved in exciting projects, site trips, and networking opportunities. We’re kicking off a series highlighting their experiences and career aspirations!
Purdue University
Civil Engineering and Italian Studies
I was recommended to apply by a connection at the Village of Carpentersville! I had previously seen / heard of WT Group from job fairs at Purdue so I was aware of the company but didn’t know they were hiring.
I think one of my favorite projects I worked on would be an eminent domain case. This was really interesting to me as it was different from some of the other projects I'd worked on, as it included the aspect of law. It also showed me how we at WT Group and as civil engineers work to solve all different types issues.
I have really honed in on my CAD and Civil3D skills. I previously was familiar with some CAD programs but didn’t have experience with Civil3D, which I have since learned working at WT Group.
This internship allowed me to learn while being involved in projects. I have gained skills with CAD, as well as learning how to work on a project itself with coworkers.
