As summer draws to a close, I'm excited to reflect on an inspiring few months here at WT Group. Our High School Shadow Program and Internships brought a fresh wave of talent and energy to the team. In the Shadow Program, two high school students had the unique opportunity to rotate through all of our Practice Areas, helping them explore their interests and gain valuable insight into potential college majors. You can read more about their experience in the newsletter below.
We were also fortunate to have six interns working across Civil, DPM, MEP, and Structural disciplines. Be sure to check out the Intern Spotlights for a deeper dive into their impactful work and the skills they gained during their time with us.
Beyond internships, our Accessibility Consulting team, led by John McGovern, had a big summer as well, earning recognition for a significant ADA project in Montana, even being featured on NBC News in Butte.
Exciting things are happening across all Practice Areas, and we look forward to sharing more soon!
As always, thank you for your interest in the WT Group.

This past June, WT Group held its third annual High School Shadow Program. The program offers students a unique opportunity to experience a variety of engineering and architecture disciplines, while learning how a project comes together from start to finish. Rotating through various Practice Areas, the students worked alongside seasoned engineers, architects, and consultants in both one-on-one and team settings.
This summer, we welcomed a talented group of interns who brought fresh perspectives to WT Group. Our interns, spanning civil, structural, MEP, and design fields, were involved in exciting projects, site trips, and networking opportunities. Check out our Intern Spotlights below!
"I feel more confident entering the Mechanical Engineering field now that I have a better understanding of the work and am more familiar with Autodesk products like AutoCAD."
"I believe that interning with the Structural Engineering department at WT Group has confirmed that this is what I want to do for my career."
"I developed skills in AutoCAD, improved my communication with clients, learned how to teach others, and gained experience conducting site visits."
"One of my favorite projects would be an eminent domain case. This was really interesting to me, as it was different from some of the other projects, and included the aspect of law."
"This internship has prepared me to understand how civil engineers work in real-world projects. This experience will help me prepare for my future career as a successful civil engineer."
"Seeing the results of my hard work come to life was incredibly satisfying, making my efforts this summer feel truly valuable."
WT Group was recently featured on two NBC News segments in Butte, Montana for our dedicated Accessibility Consulting services. As an example of the strong commitment to the communities served, the project includes the auditing of all existing sites, facilities, sidewalks, and the development of a transition plan for the future. We’re proud to be part of this journey towards making Butte more inclusive and accessible for everyone!
WT Group was proud to provide the Aquatic, Civil, MEP, and Structural Engineering, along with Design & Program Management and Land Survey services to the Turtle Creek Sprayground project in Vernon Hills, Illinois. The project showcases a cutting-edge 6,484-square-foot splash pad designed to engage visitors of all ages.
