This project consisted the construction of a new 10 acre park which included a parking lot, community garden, playground, shelter structure with green roof, a spray pad, a garden feature, a bike path, and a native planted detention pond. WT Group provided a one (1) stop shop services including, site design, landscape design, structural engineering, MEP engineering, civil engineering, and surveying services. This project was an excavation and storm water management design challenge. Several large mature trees had to be graded around to ensure the character of the park. Additionally, there was Zone A flood plain on the site and therefore the 100 acre plus drainage study was required to determine the on-site flood plain elevation. Permitting services were required for the Village of Olympia Fields, Matteson, IDOT, the MWRD, and FEMA. The site was successfully developed and is currently thoroughly enjoyed by the neighborhood.
