ADA compliance consultants for parks, buildings, programs and policies for 16 municipalities

The Western Connecticut Council of Governments (WestCOG) engaged WT Group’s Accessibility Consulting team in 2024 to support 16 municipalities in achieving ADA compliance. This large-scale initiative brings together all nine members of our Accessibility team, leveraging their expertise to assess and enhance accessibility across a diverse range of parks and public facilities.
WestCOG’s municipalities vary in size, from small communities of 2,000 residents to larger cities with populations of up to 150,000. To streamline the process, we organized the municipalities into four groups, balancing population size and facility count to ensure efficient implementation. Our work includes conducting accessibility audits, preparing site reports, interviewing municipal staff, and engaging the community to develop actionable solutions.
Our team actively tracks progress, providing regular updates and ensuring municipalities are equipped with the insights needed for compliance improvements. Final reports for each municipality and WestCOG will be delivered in 2026, with ongoing updates guiding the project’s success.
