This summer, we welcomed a talented group of interns who have brought fresh perspectives to WT Group. Our interns, spanning civil, structural, MEP, and design fields, were involved in exciting projects, site trips, and networking opportunities. We’re kicking off a series highlighting their experiences and career aspirations!

I really enjoyed my experience in the shadow program. The work environment seemed great, and I wanted to learn more about the MEP practice. I felt I could gain a deeper understanding of the daily work of MEP engineers and better prepare myself for a career in engineering.
I really enjoyed working on the 40 DuPage Ct project. This project challenged and improved my AutoCAD skills the most. It was especially interesting to see the planning and effort involved in constructing an apartment building.
I learned a lot about AutoCAD, and also learned even more about Microsoft Office programs and Revit. Before my internship at WT Group, I knew very little about AutoCAD, but now I can comfortably work within the program.
I believe this experience has prepared me for a career in Mechanical/MEP Engineering by giving me hands-on experience with projects in AutoCAD, collaborating with other MEP engineers, and gaining a deep understanding of their day-to-day work. It has helped me understand the job's requirements and identify areas where I need to learn or improve.
I feel more confident entering the Mechanical Engineering field now that I have a better understanding of the work and am more familiar with Autodesk products like AutoCAD. I also wasn’t very familiar with the MEP field before, but it has now become a viable option for me.
