Gneist Residence

This stunning single family home is over 3,000 square feet and features 2 bedrooms, a large living room, and carport. Built in a seismic zone, WT Group had to use innovative seismic design to bring this project to life. There are wood floor trusses that run 24 inches deep and utilizing an inside truss system WT was able to house all the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing of the house. The roof has an irregular slope, to accommodate winds in the area and seismic load transfer WT implemented 9-12 feet of cantilever. One of the particularly innovative features is that the shear walls are not continuous and have support columns instead.
